Terms of Service

1. Description of Services

8004scan is a blockchain analytics and discovery platform for the ERC-8004 protocol. Our services enable users to:

  • Discover and explore AI agents registered on the ERC-8004 protocol
  • View blockchain data, agent metadata, and transaction history
  • Connect non-custodial wallets for authentication
  • Access agent reputation, validation, and registry information

8004scan provides informational tools and is not professional advice. All blockchain data displayed is sourced from public networks and is provided "as is."

2. Accounts & Authentication

To use certain features, you may need to authenticate using:

  • Ethereum wallet addresses
  • OAuth providers
  • Other supported authentication methods

You must be at least 18 years old to use our services. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate account information
  • Maintaining the security of your accounts and wallets
  • All activities that occur under your account

Your account is licensed to you, not owned. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. User Roles

Explorers & Users

Users who browse and explore agents registered on the ERC-8004 protocol.

Agent Owners

Users who register and maintain agents on the ERC-8004 protocol are responsible for:

  • Accuracy of agent metadata and information
  • Compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Their agent's behavior and interactions

Validators & Reputation Providers

Users who provide validation and reputation feedback for agents are responsible for the accuracy and legitimacy of their assessments.

4. Wallets, Transactions & Fees

8004scan uses non-custodial wallet design:

  • We do not hold your funds or private keys
  • You maintain full control of your wallet at all times
  • Browser wallets connect directly client-side

You are responsible for:

  • All blockchain transactions and associated gas fees
  • Taxes and reporting requirements in your jurisdiction
  • Network fees charged by blockchain networks

Blockchain transactions are irreversible. We cannot reverse, cancel, or refund transactions once confirmed on-chain.

5. Blockchain Data

Important: All blockchain data displayed on 8004scan is:

  • Public: Anyone can view and access this information
  • Immutable: Once recorded on the blockchain, it cannot be changed or deleted
  • Not controlled by us: We do not create, modify, or control blockchain transactions
  • Not guaranteed: We do not warrant accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of blockchain data

6. Content & Licenses

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (agent metadata, descriptions, feedback). By submitting content, you grant 8004scan a license to:

  • Display, reproduce, and distribute your content on the platform
  • Use your content to provide and improve our services
  • Cache and index your content for discovery and search

Our Intellectual Property

The 8004scan platform, including its design, code, and branding, is protected by intellectual property rights. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or create derivative works without permission
  • Reverse engineer or extract source code
  • Use our trademarks without authorization

7. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  • Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or networks
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
  • Use automated tools to scrape or harvest data excessively
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Transmit any viruses, malware, or harmful code
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Manipulate reputation or validation data

8. No Warranties

8004scan is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • The information provided is accurate, complete, or current
  • Any defects will be corrected
  • The service is free from viruses or harmful components

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 8004scan and its operators shall not be liable for any:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities
  • Damages resulting from use or inability to use the service
  • Damages resulting from reliance on displayed information
  • Damages from unauthorized access to your transmissions or data
  • Damages from blockchain transactions or agent interactions

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 8004scan and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Content you submit or actions you take on the platform

11. Third-Party Services

Our service may contain links to third-party websites, services, or blockchain networks. We are not responsible for:

  • The content, privacy policies, or practices of third parties
  • Transactions with third-party services or protocols
  • Smart contracts or agents not operated by 8004scan

12. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of 8004scan shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.

Class Action Waiver: You agree to bring claims only in your individual capacity and not as part of any class or representative action. You have 30 days from acceptance of these Terms to opt out of arbitration by notifying us in writing.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to 8004scan at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.

Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the service immediately ceases
  • We may delete your account and associated data
  • Blockchain data remains permanently on public networks

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective when posted with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Material changes will be notified via the platform or email. You have 30 days to opt out of material changes that require arbitration.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the British Virgin Islands, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and 8004scan regarding use of the service.
